Dear Friends, coinciding with the World Meeting of Families in 2015, the Bicentennial of the Battle of New Orleans (which “restored the confidence of America”) will take place the same year.  This little known historic event marks recognition by a future president of the United States, General Andrew Jackson, of the power of intercessory prayer, as well as the existence of a personal, loving God.

Our Lady of Prompt Succor, who is the patroness not only of New Orleans and Louisiana but also of our young country, deserves to be better known.  Please share this information, as well as please pray for The Louisiana Family Rosary, which is in pre-production.

Here is a 30-second video clip, which I created in 2002, using images from the National Shrine of Our Lady of Prompt Succor, as well as from the Louisiana State Museum of Art.  All are used according to “Fair Use Guidelines.”  I  hope the video clip inspires you to learn more about the Battle, Our Lady of Prompt Succor, and Louisiana’s wonderful Catholic family heritage.  Thanks, Connie Anderson, M.Ed.
